This body of work celebrates the many ways African Americans have continuously fought for a better life with courage, creativity, faith, intuition, strength, tenacity and unity. The highlighted points in history serve as inspiration for us to continue our personal and collective journey towards joy, wellness, liberation, peace and prosperity. This series also honors the work of Gordon Park’s Alabama, 1956 series by utilizing moments captured by Mr. Parks as image references.
